Hello Everybody,
Like I touched on in my last post this semester I will be covering both Social Media Marketing and Google Analytics. This is the first segment of Google Analytics.
Web Analytics
Chapter One - Fun With Analytics
Web analytics is looking over different information in order to best understand and optimize your website. This information can include how many views you're getting, where are people coming from, how long are they staying on your site and so forth. This information is vital in order to start understanding your ROI. If you're investing a lot of money into your website but you're not getting any new visitors or more sales, than you might have to rethink about your approach. Looking at your analytics can help you get an idea of what people are looking for or what aspects of your site is bringing them in to begin with. Then you can focus on strengthening these areas to widen your organization's reach.
There are a lot of different types of analytics. There is Google Analytics which is free and is provided by Google. There is Adobe Analytics- Omniture. Ominture is more expensive with no trials, so people are less likely to be trained in it, which also means those people are more rare and are more likely to have higher salaries. There is Open Source Analytics, this is when Google analyzes your behavior and shows ads that are more geared towards your needs. Then there is Social Analytics. Particular social media channels already help you analyze your own data, such as how many likes you get or views and so forth.
Keep posted to see more in dept information on Web Analytics!
Until next time,
